Domingo Trassens @trassens - #WR: What are the new IBM’s initiatives? @WSJ posted a story where the journalist remarks
that in a new cycle, IBM is launching “a slew of business-oriented artificial
intelligence and cloud-computing products” First steps of the new CEO, Arvind
Krishna! #IBM #AI #CloudComputing
On April 6, IBM - the famous tech giant - starts a new
cycle under the helm of Arvind Krishna, as CEO. He is succeeding to Ginni
Rometty, who led the technology company for a period of eight years.
Before the current assignment, Mr. Krishna was in charge of
the cloud-computing projects of IBM. He is an IT professional from India with
an extensive career inside IBM.
In one of his first statements as CEO, Arvind Krishna said
that “coronavirus pandemic will ‘dramatically accelerate’ adoption of AI, cloud
computing.
Despite the efforts of the former CEO Ginni Rometty, during
recent years, IBM didn’t grow as technological player in the same level of
previous cycles due to a lot of changes the tech industry lived in the last
decade.
Since its first days as a company, IBM was a strong
manufacturer of processing machines, big computer systems, storage units, and a
variety of peripheral devices for data centers and big computer users.
In the recent times, the software and the digital devices
for end-users generated more revenues than the sector of big information
technology systems. You can see the stellar growth of Apple and Microsoft.
The initiative of Arvind Krishna points to the new trends
of the technology in the business and corporate sector. We have to hope this
step allows IBM to maintain a constant growth like the players focused in the
development of software and digital devices for end users. Good luck Mr.
Krishna!
