#WR: What is next after the coronavirus pandemic? #COVID19 is triggering a “global food crisis” according to a @WSJ' s analysis. The sickness started to hit the world before the time of harvests and stopped all the process. Now, “rotting crops” are soaring prices. #food_crisis.
#WSJ says "The coronavirus pandemic hit the world at a time of plentiful harvests and ample food reserves. Yet a cascade of protectionist restrictions, transport disruptions and processing breakdowns has dislocated the global food supply and put the planet’s most vulnerable regions in particular peril."
"“You can have a food crisis with lots of food. That’s the situation we’re in,” said Abdolreza Abbassian, a senior economist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, or FAO."
This analysis agrees with the concerns other economic studies remark about the negative economic impact of the stopping of productive process due to pandemics or other evils across the world.
