RETHINKING - APRIL 30, 2022 - PEOPLE QUESTIONS

It is interesting to read the questions normal people make when they read about crucial issues like the Ukraine-Russia War.

In the blog of members of WSJ Online, we always find important statements and questions.

About the destruction of the Ukrainian cities, somebody wrote: "America rebuilt Japan and Germany after the war. Will Russia rebuild Ukraine?"

This was my answer:

"If Russia wins this war, it will end with the last rest of Ukrainian culture.

Mr. Putin wants to delete the name "Ukraine" from the geography books and prohibit the speaking of the Ukrainian language.

The Ukrainian survivors will become slaves of the Moscow regime. And the rebels will end their lives in concentration camps, maybe in the Siberian frozen lands like in previous wars."

RETHINKING - APRIL 29, 2022 - MOSCOW DIPLOMACY

Today Deutsche Welle and The Wall Street Journal posted dramatic news about the Russian bombing of the Ukrainian capital during the visit of the United Nations Secretary.

Both stories show the Russians don’t care about the international organizations nor their image in front of the UN, considering that they are members of this world organization.

This was the introduction of the story posted by the Wall Street Journal: “Rescuers Seek Survivors at Kyiv Apartment Building Hit During U.N. Chief’s Ukraine Visit”

My opinion comment posted in the WSJ Online blog section: “Russians act as barbarians. Moscow diplomacy is nurtured by a criminal culture, anti-civilian and the language of the weapons.”

RETHINKING - APRIL 28, 2022 - PUTIN WAR AT TODAY

The Wall Street Journal posted a story titled "Russia Making Slow Progress in Bid to Cut Off Ukrainian Forces"

My blog comment was:

"Mr. Putin has the money to finance this war despite all the Russian soldiers that can die on the battlefield. He doesn't have human feelings. He only wants the victory,"

RETHINKING - APRIL 24, 2022 - THE FRENCH SAID 'NO' TO PUTIN

The Wall Street Journal comments today the result of the France’s election in a story written by Noemie Bisserbe and Stacy Meichtry with this introduction:

“PARIS—French President Emmanuel Macron was re-elected by a wide margin, according to projections based on early ballot counts, overcoming deep divisions among voters worried about inflation, the war in Ukraine and the impact of immigration on France’s national identity.

Mr. Macron garnered 58.8% of the estimated vote Sunday, while far-right leader Marine Le Pen won 41.2%, according to a projection from polling firm Ipsos.”

We have to remark that a few days before the voting Macron and Le Pen had a public TV debate where again Ms. Le Pen recognized that she received support from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.

These were my comments posted in the WSJ Online blog about the results of French elections:

“Putin lost in France. The French voted against Le Pen for her friendship with the Russian President.

The friendship between Le Pen and Putin is not new. In the previous election, Macron's rival traveled to Moscow on an official trip asking the Russian president for his support.

The French don't like the infiltration of others in their own elections

First of all, the French are French. With their classic pride, they said “Putin out!”

RETHINKING - APRIL 23, 2022 - DEVILISH INSTINCT

The recent news and stories that come from Ukraine show that Russians continue attacking the civil population in each place where they arrive.

My last comment about the current situation posted in the WSJ Online blog is: "Mr. Putin wants to destroy all the corners of Ukraine and kill everybody. His instinct is devilish.

RETHINKING - APRIL 21, 2022 - ILLEGALS ARE PUSHING AMERICA DOWN

The Wall Street Journal posted an opinion column about the chaotic effect of the immigration politics today due to the split among the Democrats who rule the government.

William A. Galston, author of the column says that "Biden Needs to Lead on the Border Crisis".

My opinion posted in the WSJ blog comments sector of this column says: "It is necessary that the U.S. authorities realize that illegal immigration is putting America in the low level of countries like Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, because all these people only come here to eat our wealth."

In general, the illegal immigrants from the Central American countries don't put effort into integrating themselves with the American community. They are only interested in receiving benefits from our social and health institutions. They want to "eat our wealth".

WSJ BLOG - APRIL 15, 2022 - INVESTORS VS. PUTIN

"Why the Ukraine War Hasn’t Crashed the Stock Market"
"All the investment signals say Vladimir Putin can’t possibly emerge victorious. " By Holman W. Jenkins, Jr.  WSJ ONLINE

My opinion: Now Wall Street knows that Mr. Putin cannot become the new czar of the Russian Empire because his army is not at the level of an empire.

RETHINKING - APRIL 14, 2022 - RUSSIAN FLAGSHIP SINKING

The Wall Street Journal posted an interesting story about Russia's Black Sea Flagship that the Ukrainians attacked.

The story titled “Russia’s Black Sea Flagship Abandoned, Damaged..."  starts “ Kyiv, Ukraine—The flagship of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva, was seriously damaged and abandoned by its crew after its ammunition blew up, Russia’s Defense Ministry said. A Ukrainian military spokesman said the ship had been hit by cruise missiles, causing it to capsize and start to sink.”

Some members of the WSJ were surprised about this incident and others said that nobody can believe the Ukrainian troops have the courage to attack and sink a Russian warship.

This was my comment in the WSJ Blog section of the story: “Ukrainians are defending their land, while the Russian soldiers don't know what they are doing in a neighboring country.”

In wars where a country is defending itself from an enemy invasion, the defenders frequently make quasi-impossible actions.

RETHINKING - APRIL 6, 2022 - THE MASSACRE PUNISHMENT

After the world knew about the massacre of Bucha, Deutsche Welle in its English version explained that the international legislation is complicated to demonstrate what the war crimes are and how to punish them.

Despite the declarations of Ukrainian President Zelensky, this massacre may never hit Mr. Putin in person.

In my opinion, "till now, President Putin didn't suffer the pain of this crisis in his own body and if the Russians don't have someone who pushes Putin away from the Kremlin all will continue the same."

RETHINKING - APRIL 3, 2022 - NATO IS THE TARGET

Everybody is talking about Ukraine's invasion, but only some observers look at the complete scene.

It is clear that President Putin is interested in Ukraine thinking that the territory of this independent country is Russian territory.

But in the mind of the Russian leader, the last target is not only Ukraine, Georgia or Moldova.

For this reason, it is interesting to see the recent movements of NATO to reinforce the defense of the country members in the eastern side of Europe.

About this subject, the Wall Street Journal published a story titled "On NATO’s Front Line, Russia’s Threat Draws New Allied Forces".

The story written by  Noemie Bisserbe continues "Military base on Romania’s Black Sea coast is bustling with troops from U.S, France and Belgium as part of new defensive reinforcements."

I am not a military expert in NATO issues; however I think the last target of Mr. Putin is not Ukraine, it is the division of NATO.

In relation to this subject, I posted a blog comment in WSJ Online.

This was my comment that received a lot of LIKED from the members of the WSJ Members Community:

"The last target of President Putin is not Ukraine. It is the division of NATO and the return of East Europe and the Baltics to Moscow's control."

RETHINKING - APRIL 1, 2022 - A WAR IS NOT A MILITARY PARADE

Today, the Wall Street Journal comments that the Russian troops have suffered a lot of losses of equipment, and they have serious problems for supplies: gasoline for the tanks and armored vehicles, ammunition, and food for the soldiers.

Additionally, WSJ reported that the Ukrainians attacked a fuel depot inside Russian territory.

My comment posted in the blog segment of the WSJ Online associated with the current news is:

"Russians have to learn that a war with Ukrainians is not a military parade in Moscow."
