RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2022 - GAS PIPELINE LEAKS

Today The Wall Street Journal focused its main stories and columns on the "mysterious leaks" of the Russian gas pipelines to Germany.

I posted two comments in the blog section of the WSJ Online that received the approval of other members of the community. 


THESE ARE MY BLOG COMMENTS: 

1) "From my point of view, this is a sabotage ordered by President Putin to create problems for the Europeans." (The leaders of NATO also think the leaks are sabotage.)

 2) "Mr. Putin wants to put Europe under his boots damaging the coasts of the European countries."

RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 23, 2022 - PUTIN'S THREATS

 


Today The Wall Street Journal published an interesting opinion column of Peggy Noonan about Putin's threats. 

According to the analysis of the paper column we cannot be naive thinking that nothing worse will happen.

The Noonan's column starts "Opinion | It’s a Mistake to Shrug Off Putin’s Threats"

Next,  the journalist wrote "As we saw before World War I, it’s easy to become complacent as trouble builds into catastrophe."

After the reading of the Peggy Noonan comments, in the blog section of the WSJ Online of this column, I posted my opinion that received the approval of other members of the Wall Street community.

MY BLOG COMMENT: 

"Today we are closer to war than to peace. With a man like Putin in the helm of Russia, we can never say, he will not use nuclear weapons. He did all the worst that he promised. And the next step is very close."

RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 21, 2022 - APOCALYPTIC END

 

Today, the Wall Street Journal posted a terrible story about the decision of Russia's President Putin to continue the war against Ukraine and his threats about the possible use of nuclear weapons.

This was the summary of the story posted in Twitter:

RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2022 - MORE DEVILS IN THE BATTLEFIELD

 

Everybody knows that during the last few decades Russia became an important exporter of weapons and military equipment.

Ukraine's war is changing the Russian status of "exporter" for the "importer" of military equipment.

During the last few weeks, Deutsche Welle and other European newspapers commented that Russia's President Putin contacted the North Korean leader asking for Russian weapons that originally his country sold to this Asian country.

And this week, also Mr. Putin had a meeting with China's President Xi for chips and Chinese military supplies.

The last news of today came from the Wall Street Journal that published an extensive story about the drones from Iran that apparently are helping the Russians to hit the Ukrainians in a more effective way than their own tanks.

About this issue, I posted a comment in the blog section of WSJ ONLINE. 

Other members of the WSJ Community applauded my comment.

RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 16, 2022 - WHAT WILL BE THE END?

 

Today The Wall Street Journal published a deep story about the balance of the Ukraine-Russia war after six months and until today.

This was the subject of the story "What Russia’s Failure in Ukraine Means for Putin and the World"

Across the story, the columnist analyzes the damages for the military industry of Russia and the successful results of the American weapons used by the Ukrainians.

In addition, the story talks about the frustration of the circle around Mr. Putin for the poor performance of the Russian commanders and troops.

My comment posted in the blog section of the WSJ Online received the approval of other members of the community.

This was my blog comment: 

"Till now, we don't know what President Putin will do. The best for him, the Russians and the world is a total withdrawal from Ukraine right now. The use of nuclear weapons would be the start of a new global war with disastrous consequences for everybody."

RETHINKING - SEPTEMBER 11, 2022 - PUTIN'S SILENCE

 

In the last few days, the Wall Street Journal posted a series of stories that show that the offensive of the Ukrainians are hitting the Russians more than everybody expected.

Today, WSJ published a new story  with the following introduction: "Ukraine Claims Fresh Gains Against Russian Forces in Country’s East. Kyiv’s latest offensive has returned more than 1,000 square miles to Ukrainian control, says the military chief."

About this subject. In the blog section of WSJ Online, I posted a comment that received the approval of the members of the community.

This was my comment: 

"Putin's silence at this moment of the war shows the Russians are distant from the achievement of the goals of the invasion, and in serious problems to end the war in an honorable way."
