RETHINKING - JUNE 29, 2022 - DEATH IN THE BORDER

It is not new that illegal immigrants die in the southern border with Mexico, however always that something very tragic happens, all the media talk in high voice.

Now, the Wall Street Journal published “The death toll from Monday’s discovery of dozens of migrants being smuggled in a tractor-trailer rose to 53 Wednesday, according to local authorities, marking a grim addition to what appears to be a rising death toll among people attempting to illegally enter the U.S. from Mexico.”

“Three people have been arrested in relation to the incident, according to authorities, and two men have been charged with possession of a weapon by a person illegally in the country.”

My opinion posted in the blogger section of the WSJ Online is “The death of these people is sad from the human perspective.

But, it is time the United States closes the border completely for the illegals and punishes very hard to the human smugglers.  From my point of view, these criminals deserve the death penalty.

The Mexican authorities are one of the parts responsible for human traffic businesses.

If Mexico doesn't help, we have to fight against human traffics as the first priority.”

RETHINKING - JUNE 25, 2022 - ABORTO OR ECONOMY

In the last few days, a lot of activists came to Washington DC to protest against the decision of the Supreme Court about abortion.

In connection with this issue the media is saying that probably the abortion will be the main issue of the mid-term election in November.

Today, in relation of the subject, the Wall Street Journal published an editorial column titled: "Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade Ruling Sets Off Protests as States Plan Moves"

These were my comments posted in the blog section of the WSJ Online:

"While the people fight about the abortion issue, they forget the gasoline prices are climbing."

"This fighting around the abortion is a new "curtain" to hide the most serious issues that are hitting America in the current time: economy, social violence, and the threats of a new world war due to the power ambition of Russia and China."

RETHINKING - JUNE 24, 2022 - LOSING THE BATTLE...

In the last few weeks, The Wall Street Journal, Deutsche Welle and others are posting stories that show bad news from the Ukrainian troops in the east of the country.

The last story posted by WSJ says "Ukrainian Troops Retreat From Severodonetsk After Weeks of Brutal Battle" by By Yaroslav Trofimov.

These are my comments written in the blog section of the WSJ Online:

"In the East Ukraine, Ukrainians don't achieve victories despite the support the United States and Europe are giving to the Zelensky's government."

"Ukraine is losing the east of the country in the battlefield and the cost is high."

RETHINKING - JUNE 21, 2022 - THE GHOST OF FIDEL

Yesterday morning – June 20, 2022 – when I learned about the victory  the former Colombia’s guerrilla leader (Mr. Petro), immediately I said “The Ghost of Fidel is near to ending his job across all Latin America."

In recent months, this Ghost changed the maps of Chile and Peru. Now both countries are led by communist politicians.

Everybody knows that Lula is trying to retake Brazil again.

But the worst action of the Ghost of Fidel is in Colombia, a country that was allied with the United States during the hard war against the guerrilla and the drug landlords.

It is evident that the Ghost of Fidel continues spreading Castro's ideology across all Latin America and the citizens of those countries dream that God is opening the doors of Paradise. Yes, the Red Paradise of the slavery to leaders who frequently use the bad practices of Fidel and the Che. I really feel sorry for these naïve people.

RETHINKING - JUNE 18, 2022 - COLOMBIA'S FUTURE

On Sunday, Colombians have election day. They are voting between a former “guerrilla leader” (leftist leader) and a real-estate mogul.

All the American press is following this election because it can change the future of the South American country in a dramatic way.

The Wall Street Journal posted a story titled “Colombia’s  Is Latest Blow to Latin America’s Political Center” by Juan Forero and David Luhnow.

This is the introduction of the WSJ’s story “In Sunday’s presidential election, voters will choose between two anti- establishment politicians. Gustavo Petro, a 62-year-old senator, is a leftist former guerrilla who says he wants to end oil exploration and print money to spur economic growth. Rodolfo Hernández, his rival, is a 77-year-old provincial real-estate mogul who didn’t hold rallies or speak from public squares...”

My opinion posted in the blog section of WSJ Online:

“Colombians have in their hands the future of their country. If they vote for the left, please don't cry after that. And don't come to the United States to ask for help.”

RETHINKING - JUNE 17, 2022 - MIKE PENCE...

In recent days, the January 6 House Committee about the events in January, 2020 made public its research about what happened that day in the Capitol of Washington DC.

Today, The Wall Street Journal posted a story related to the role of the former Vice President in the Capitol in 2020 titled “Mike Pence Considers 2024 Bid as Jan. 6 Hearings Remind Voters of His Break From Trump” by By Alex Leary  and John McCormick.

This was my comment posted in the bloggers sector of the WSJ Online:

"Mike Pence gave us an important lesson of democracy and civility on January 6, 2020."

RETHINKING - JUNE 16, 2022 - BRITISH DISASTER

Today, The Wall Street Journal published an opinion column by Joseph C. Sternberg about the bad moment the United Kingdom is living in now.

The column titled “The Very Preventable Economic Disaster Overtaking Britain” starts with the following statement “Policies are almost never truly stupid, but that’s the best term to describe the Tories’ recent decisions.”

After that, the author wrote "The U.K. economy is the world’s fifth-largest and Europe’s second-largest after Germany. London is a major financial center, and Britain is an energy producer and a vigorous global trader. What happens here matters to the rest of the world. So it matters that the British economy today is, to put it delicately, a hot mess."

This subject is very similar to some stories posted for the European press about the disaster the Britons are living at the moment.

My comments in blog sector of the WSJ Online that I posted today:

1) “It looks like Brexit didn't work like Mr. Johnson and his friends expected.”

2) “The case of the United Kingdom is not a surprise. Bad politicians destroy great countries. In the last few years, the U.K. has been walking across a chaotic situation. “

Both opinions received the approval of other members of the WSJ blog community with LIKED.

The British Disaster has some similarity with the current American disaster.

RETHINKING - JUNE 15, 2022 - GAS PRICES

Today, an editorial column of the Wall Street Journal titled: "Biden Could Bring Down Gas Prices, but Won’t" started with the following statement: "Signals for the future affect market prices today."

To this statement, one of the members of the blog community answered "... the wind doesn’t blow all the time and the sun doesn’t always shine. For these to provide a reliable power source, they must either be backed up with traditional power sources—in which case the cost of the renewables is extremely high, as they provide minimal benefit beyond the traditional power."

Continuing with the opinion of the other members of the WSJ Online community, I wrote "The governments have to be pragmatic when they take crucial decisions. We cannot cut with the traditional power sources till we don't advance in the development of the technology to make wind and sun affordable powers."

We cannot be happy because the Russians don't have better strategists and tacticians. Everybody knows that President Putin doesn't care how many Russian soldiers die and how many Russian tanks will be destroyed. He has more resources than the Ukrainians and in a long-term war, he knows that in the end he will destroy the enemy. The last results are that really have value: the Ukraine's extermination.
The start of the war was okay for the Ukrainians, but now the situation is different. In the East Ukraine. And the problem is not Biden and/or the American weapons. The problem is the Ukraine doesn't have a military strategist to defeat the Russians in this battlefield.
I think you are right. If the Ukrainians want to win, they need to follow military plans coordinated by military experts.
Ukrainians are making the same mistake they made in Mariupol.
I read the article, but from my point of view, the way the Russians transport their tanks to the battlefield is not the key issue now. The point is that early or late more Russian supplies are coming. and will continue coming if the Ukrainians don't find a way to completely destroy the rail infrastructure from Russia to Ukraine.
I agree that the country needs "an objective accounting of the Capitol riot". It is bad that the Democrats want to use this event for their side.
It is great that the Ukrainians continue fighting "for their nation's existence." However, it is terribly painful that nobody from outside wants to put their face in front of Mr. Putin in a hard way to stop the war. Everybody is afraid of the Russian dictator's reactions, including the same Russian politicians who don't agree with the extermination tactic of the new Russian "Emperor".
Kamala will have to resign too. She has clue of nothing.
Progressive politicians are the enemies of traditional American culture.
In summary, Angela Merkel is a traitor to her own country.
You are right. President Putin is a new version of the great Russian leaders of the past: "- cruel, ruthless, emotionless, crafty, lying and murderess"
It is easy to say that the inflation will continue high instead of taking initiatives to put down the inflationary process. We don't want parasitic governments.  The Biden administration has tools that it doesn't use to put down the gasoline price.  Also, today the technology can help to reduce administration costs to achieve a more efficient government apparatus.
Yes, it is a bad publicity for Twitter.

It is normal that a potential buyer like Elon Musk requests a lot of information before to make the acquisition.
I agree, but some British politicians are trying to push him away from the government. Frequently, the politicians think different from the normal citizens.
Definitively, West cannot support a long Ukrainian war.
We will not discuss the responsibility of the police in this case. However, nobody talks about the responsibility of the family of the murderer. (This was a young man of 18 years. )
It is bad that till now a lot of politicians don't understand: "The American political system has accreted so many solutions and sub-solutions to so many problems that what we have created is a system mired in sludge."
For writing about all the recent killings across the country, a story is not enough. It is necessary to write a book.
I agree that "Mr. Putin hopes to erode the West’s support for Ukraine by increasing the war’s economic costs."
Times changed and now Germany has to rethink its own defense in a serious way.
After his death, Fidel Castro continues his job of the "Cubanization" of Latin America:  Peru, Chile, Colombia...
Maybe the article is quite good, but it shows a dark horizon for the Ukrainians.
Putin continues with his plans, and he doesn't care how many soldiers (Russians or Ukrainians) die.
You wrote" And most of the mass murder shooting of small children are done by young white men...." For you, are only important "small children"? Nobody including elders has to be target of mass murders.

The police officers are not the "Superman" prototypes of the movies.
Everybody makes "wrong decisions"... And today is very difficult to be the PERFECT POLICE OFFICER!

The Venezuela sanctions relief is a new demonstration of the weakness of President Biden. Very negative for the defenders of democracy and freedom!
Russia's History is a "gallery" of scenes of cruelty and barbarism.
The problem doesn't start in the guns and/or the police. The problem starts in the homes where the parents don't educate their children in the right way. And in the negligence of teachers and educators in the school.
The criminality starts in each home where the parents don't educate their children in the right way. Also, the bad education of the schools contributes to this scenario. Police only can enforce the laws but with a lot of limitations due to the

The question is for how much time, President Putin can continue this war? Instead to celebrate the Victory Day, last Monday, he should have announced the Defeat Day.
NATO only must accept very selective members, no everyone who wants to be part of the club. The membership conditions have to be strict.

Russia provoked others. Now, it will see the consequences. The European countries don't want Russian boots in their territories. The narrative of Mr. Putin doesn't plug with independent democratic nations.
