WSJ BLOG COMMENT - August 31, 2021 - The rescue finished

Opinion | An Afghan Family’s Attempt to Get to Safety

A lot of Afghans didn't pay attention to the advance of the Taliban before they entered Kabul. They were thinking that the government could keep the Taliban out. They were wrong. They knew government troops and the president were cowardly and corrupt. Now, it is late to reverse the facts. The rescue finished.

Opinion | Who Abandoned Bagram Air Base?

Nothing is totally safe in Afghanistan, but a military airport at 40 miles from the Kabul can be better defended than an airport in the middle of the population.

Opinion | Who Abandoned Bagram Air Base?

I try to avoid comments like I made before, because I don't like to make Judgments of events when I don't have all the elements to analyze the " incident" like we do in the security industry. But I feel very frustrated for the 13 American soldiers who died in the Kabul Airport.  From my experience, I agree with the WSJ Editorial Board that it is impossible to make SAFE RESCUE operations in an airport surrounded by enemies.

Opinion | Who Abandoned Bagram Air Base?

Your tone is very arrogant attacking me with only a question. I will answer: 1) I am not a military expert. 2) However, for professional and personal links I have experience about countries infected of terrorism. I survived a bomb attack. I travelled across Arab countries . And my family suffered directly the terrorism of the Baghdad streets after the Iraq war started, I have for myself and my family hard experience about the violence and the behavior of the "bad guys" in countries fighting in the terror war. 3) In addition, I am linked with the security sector since more than 30 years. With all these elements I said that the President is not acting like a Commander in Chief. I don't discuss if he is a good or non-good president. But he never suffered the terror in his own skin and nobody in his family is one of the 13 American soldiers killed in the Kabul Airport.    Please, put you in the place of the family of the 13 dead soldiers!!!

Opinion | Biden’s Rush to the Afghan Exits

Biden is not in condition to take questions because he has not answers. He is acting according to the pressure of the Taliban without own decision.

Opinion | Biden’s Rush to the Afghan Exits

The weakness and dishonor of Biden puts all the country in jeopardy. If he has accepted the Taliban game with him, anybody across the world will do the same.

Opinion | The Deeper Crisis Behind the Afghan Rout

You are pointing a  serious issue. Today we cannot solve internal problems because "Democrats think Republicans are the problem and vice versa:" We have to think as Americans and stop to blame the others.

Opinion | What Biden Can Still Save in Afghanistan

We have different way of thinking. I care for the Americans and friends who don't want to remain in Afghanistan under the oppression and terror of the Taliban.

But now, he cannot turn his back to the thousands of people who want to leave Afghanistan. He has the obligation to fix the mess before the Taliban militants take the control of the Airport.

President Biden has the obligation to reverse his wrong decisions that affect to the US citizens and American friends who continue waiting in Kabul.  The rescue requests immediate and effective actions.

Opinion | Should Military Officers Be Chosen by Race?

If we want that America returns to its glories times, in the military, university and the companies the successful formula is to select employees and leaders based on intelligence, aptitude, skill and excellence.

Opinion | New York’s Capital Is Crazytown

During the last decades, how many public leaders have treated the young women as sexual prey? And some of these young women used this bad behavior to achieve personal benefits. No all them are innocent.

Law School Loses Luster as Debts Mount and Salaries Stagnate

Great observation "I learned quickly that if I couldn't afford something, I didn't buy it. When I bought my home, I made sure I could afford the monthly payment and had money in case of an emergency." You are completely right!
