WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 30, 2021 - China and Freedom

#WR: China and Freedom! @WSJ in an opinion column titled “Was Milton Friedman Wrong About China? William McGurn returns to the analysis that the famous economist Friedman made in 2003 about the economic Chinese growth. Friedman thought wrong that economy and freedom run together.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Milton Friedman said: "I predict that China will move increasingly toward political freedom if it continues its successful move to economic freedom. "

The last events related to Hong Kong and the goal of President Xi to take Taiwan shows that till now, China didn't evolve to a political freedom. Instead of this, the initiatives of Beijing are going in the opposite direction. What do you think?

WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 29, 2021 - Mathematics of Deaths, Survivors and Missing People

After reading all the material posted by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, I realized that nobody confirms exactly why the media was talking of between 159 and 150 missing people from the first moment.

From the other side, the Wall Street Journal comments that some families escaped, but it does not give exact numbers of the survivors.

According to the latest data, they found 12 corpses and 149 people are missing.
In different opportunities, I tested some of my ideas with questions posted on Twitter.
.
With the same criterion, today during the night I posted two key questions in my Twitter account.

These are the questions, and these are the impressions after three hours of posting.

“WR: Who? Who really knows that there are around 150 missing people in the collapsed building? Somebody had the list of all the people who were in the building that night? Maybe,150 is a fictitious number for the insurance?
 Impressions: 1136

"WR: In an environment of corruption, all is possible!
Impressions: 1849

Conclusion: The impressions of both questions show that a lot of people are thinking that the figures of the missing people posted are not real. We have to see if the 149 missing people appear.

WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 23, 2021 - Hong Kong's collapse

#WR: Last freedom shout! @WSJ wrote that “Apple Daily, HongKong’s defiant pro-democracy newspaper that drew the ire of China’s leaders, said it would print its final issue Thursday, ending an era of unfettered reporting critical of Beijing in the city’s mainstream print scene.”

The Wall Street Journal wrote "“The era of free political speech as we have long known it is gone,” said Sharron Fast, a journalism lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, who noted recent moves to censor books, art and movies in the city. “The loss of Apple at this point almost feels like we are at the brink of collapse. And it is natural for this loss to be profoundly felt in the city.”

At this moment, we cannot see that Hong Kong will be the Hong Kong the decades before. It will be only a new "puppet" of Beijing. Of course, without freedom, this is the collapse of the former British colony.

WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 22, 2021 - The valuable independence of Taiwan

#WR: Is Taiwan's fall only a question of time? @WSJ wrote "Last week, 28 #Chinese fighter jets and other aircraft conducted exercises over waters south of Taiwan. A successful effort to end #Taiwan’s independence by force, once considered improbable, can no longer be ruled out."

The Wall Street Journal in "China Has Stopped Biding Its Time" by Willian A. Galston posted "Mr. Xi has deployed the full force of Chinese nationalism to support the reassertion of his country’s power and to complete its reunification."

While the western countries continue acting in a dubious way in front of China, the Chinese led by President Xi are focused on building a formidable  technological superiority with application in the military field, and create the largest navy of the world.

Please, don't make it possible that Taiwan falls in the hands of Mr. Xi. And remember that today, Taiwan is the first chip provider of the world, including the United States.

WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 21, 2021 - BIDENFLACTION!

#WR:  How does the math of Joe Biden works? An @WSJ opinion column by Glenn Hubbard titled “The Biden Budget’s Arithmetic Problem” says that “the taxing the rich will not come close to funding the new social spending the White House is proposing”. New public debts!

Glenn Hubbard wrote "Many economists, including Lawrence Summers, have highlighted the risks of the budget’s fiscal profligacy, namely inflation. But going deeper, the budget creates structural fiscal risks by crowding out future spending on things unrelated to the Biden administration’s social agenda. It limits government flexibility to address future pressing needs without much larger tax increases than the budget proposes. And the plan’s focus on basic income rather than work is a step in the wrong direction. These risks can be addressed—and in a progressive manner—but this budget needs to return to the starting line."

In the end, social spending will make America as a country poorer because the math of social spending does not close.

WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on June 20, 2021 - President Biden has to put on the boots!

#WR: Joe Biden has to put on the boots of Commander in Chief! The Editorial of @WSJ says “Iran Sends a Message to Biden” “The new president shows who really runs the Islamic Republic”. Iran answered Joe Biden worse than he expected. The President has to realize that the U.S. has three strong enemies: China, Russia and Iran. What will be the new strategy?

The Wall Street Journal wrote: "The Islamic Republic of Iran isn’t a real democracy. But the result of Friday’s presidential election still reveals important truths about the government that the U.S. and Europe are trying to appease on nuclear weapons."

"In 1988 Mr. Raisi -the new Iran president- facilitated the extrajudicial execution of thousands of dissidents. He later called the killings “one of the proud achievements of the system.” In 2009, during the Green Revolution after a stolen election, he served as deputy chief justice when peaceful protestors were prosecuted and sometimes given death sentences."

President Biden will lose his time if he tries to negotiate a new nuclear deal with Mr, Raisi.
