RETHINKING - October 7, 2021 - A Nobel Prize to an African black refugee...

"Abdulrazak Gurnah Is Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature"

Is the Nobel Prize in Literature a literature award or a political award?

Mr. Gurnah is a black African writer who came to the UK as a refugee in the 1960s. Think about this?

The New York Times wrote "The Tanzanian writer, the first Black winner since Toni Morrison, was honored for his “uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism.”

Regardless of the merits of Mr. Gurnah, it looks strange that this literature award was given to an African black refugee who came to the United Kingdom (African, black, refugee, in Europe).
