RETHINKING - DECEMBER 1, 2021 - TOP THREAT OF AMERICA NATIONAL SECURITY

In an opinion column titled “Americans Consider China Top National-Security Threat, Survey Finds” written by By Nancy A. Youssef and Gordon Lubold, The Wall Street Journal says China is the new top threat to our defense. (Posted on December 1, 2021)

But the column starts with the following statement “Americans listed China as the nation’s top foe and their trust in the U.S. military dropped to its lowest levels in three years, according to the first major national-security survey conducted since the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

From my point of view, the “top national-security threat” are the American leaders that don’t care for our defense in the right way.

And the problem didn’t start three years ago. The growth of China as a dominant power of the world began when the Asian country became the “factory” of the world.

The United States, Canada and Europe moved manufacturing facilities to produce all products in China because they were considered cheaper than to produce at home.

The process to move key factories to Chinese territory gave China the opportunity to learn advanced technology and tech secrets that concern national security.

In addition, the United States opened its best universities and educational centers to thousands of Chinese students. Today also in Florida, the universities are receiving students of different disciplines from China.

China grew, helped by our technology, the move of our manufacturing to the Chinese lands, and the opening of our best universities to the Chinese students.

For approximately three decades we - the Americans- have been building the Great Chinese Power.

It is logical that a country that pursues to be the dominant economic power of the world, also plans its defense in the same way.

Our politicians and businessmen were happy to help China in this evolution. And till now, a lot of them continue supporting the development of the Asian power as a world leader in strategic sectors of the economy. They are blind when they believe the communist ideology will be suffocated by technology and factories.

In summary, American political and business leaders are the top national security threat.
