#WR:
Why social media is frequently in the dock? Today again, Facebook and
Twitter were grilled by the Senate Intelligence Committee of the U.S.
Congress. This is the third time in less than a year. Why? There are a
lot of criticism about the social networks. @WSJ, @nytimes
#WR: Criticism against #socialmedia? Today @nytimes wrote: “For months, #Facebook, #Twitter and #Google
have grappled with criticism over the misuse of their services by
foreign operatives and the disproportionate influence their platforms
have over people’s thinking.”
#WR: Criticism against #socialmedia!!! According to @WSJ
Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants to see if "social-media giants may
be harming competition and “intentionally stifling” certain viewpoints,
stepping up pressure on the platforms over alleged anti-conservative
bias."
#WR: Social media and "political bias". We have to remember that some days ago, President Trump accused #Google
of "political bias". Today, Google didn't participate of the Congress
hearing. Larry Page CEO of Alphabet, Google's parent, was not "on hand
to absorb the blows." @WSJ
#WR: Are the social media networks responsible of the contents? While the Senate Intelligence Committee was asking to #Facebook and #Twitter
questions about their “apparent negligence” in the administration of
the networks, the people of tech world have different opinions. @WSJ
#WR: Debate about the responsibility of the #socialmedia
related to contents. Some observers say the networks are not
responsible of the contents posted by their users. Others believe the
networks have to play the role of “gendarme” of Internet to guarantee a
safe platform. @WSJ
