RETHINKING: Alabamians Show Preference for “Red”

Dear Friends:

In the last few weeks, the media is spending a lot of time talking about the Alabama voting for a U.S. Senator on Tuesday, December 12.

The voting is between the Republican candidate Roy Moore and the Democrat Doug Jones.

As we know, Roy Moore, former Alabama judge, was accused for several women as sexual attacker.

Two days before the elections, according some polls, Mr. Moore is some points over Doug Jones.

There are a lot of speculations about the possible results of this voting. However, in the last times, Alabama showed a remarkable preference for the “red” over the “blue” in the politics world.

The current governor is Republican and the other Alabamian Senator in the U.S. Senate is also from the same party. And the Alabama delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives includes 6 Republicans (red) and 1 Democrat (blue).

We have to observe what will happen in the tomorrow election. The results can show us if the sexual harassment accusations impact or no in the constituents.

Alabama is a “red state”, despite the big social commotion generated by the accusations about sexual harassment. It doesn't look that Doug Jones has the tools to change the color.

The accusation of sexual crimes has to be easy to confirm. In other case, it can be a “fairy tale” to take money of other or destroy his/her public career, (extortion).

In the Republican side, Maine Sen. Susan Collins is reinforcing the role of the “defender” of the normal people.

By the way, she is member of the Senate Special Committee on Aging focused in Medicare and Social Security.

Susan Collins is not a "puppet" of others. She is a lawmaker with own mind and with courage to defend her position.
