BLOG COMMENTS - The first 13 days of 2017...

Dear Friends:

2017 doesn’t look like a normal year for the Americans and the world. The first weeks of January were very intensive and the stress continues.

First at all, the transition of federal government from Barack Obama to Donald Trump is walking through a complicated process.

In the background, the Russian hackers, President Putin declarations, the Chinese military challenges and some scenes of massive killing complete a gloomy panorama.

Important: Some of the next WSJ comments were rewritten according to the summary of news.

Everybody who loves America has to agree that "Gen. Mattis is that vanishingly rare thing in Washington, a figure of almost universal respect."

Peggy Noonan: Thanks for your remark.

Retired Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis will have a very difficult mission in the new White House administration. We have to hope Donald Trump doesn’t crash against him.

The key question is : “And how many more job outside US?”

(By the way, how many of the new American jobs are for $25 the hour?)

After all his lobby, now Mr.Giuliani is happy because he has a job in the new government.

Before, he applied for Secretary of State. In the end, he accepted an adviser position on cyber-security. Something is better than nothing.

Why President Obama wants to remain in Washington? Is he looking for a third term or a possible Michelle campaign?

(Surely, his presence in Washington will be a generator of turbulence for the Trump administration...)

Surely, in the current moment, the U.S. blockade of the Chinese-built islands will trigger a military confrontation.

This aggressive attitude from China seems consequence of the weak American foreign relationships of the last few years.

Cold War II: While President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a series of very negative decisions across Middle East, President Putin gained ground in the same region and took Crimea.

The Russian hacking of the U.S. presidential election was only one step in a large series of incidents that started after Hillary Clinton attacked Mr. Putin in the last Russian elections.

Vladimir Putin won the war against President Obama pushing the United States to its worst diplomatic defeat in decades.

From the first moment, President Obama underestimated the skill and experience of the former KGB agent Putin in intelligence services.

Vladimir Putin was Secretary of the Security Council and Director of the Federal Security Service during the government of Russian President Boris Yeltsin.

Before, he worked in East Germany for the KGB during a long period.

Mr. Putin is an expert in espionage issues.

What is the Obama experience in secret services and espionage? Null experience!

We have to remember that Iran has also its own terrorist organization acting in Latin America since long time ago.

To remember:  the bombing attacks to AMIA and Israel Embassy in Bs.As and the killing the Argentine prosecutor researching the AMIA case.

Some western politicians are naive about Tehran links and activities with Latin American countries.
