MY COMMENT: After a series of “yes” and “no”, the “marriage” is confirmed. According to the last news, Intel is buying Altera Corp for $16.7 billion.

Everybody knows that Intel is a semiconductor manufacturer with a long series of products and the leader of the segment of microprocessors for PCs.

But what is Altera? It is also a company of the semiconductor industry that makes programmable logic devices (PLDs). It competes with Xilinx.

The merger between Intel and Altera comes some days later of other “marriage”: Avago-Broadcom. Both news plus other recent transactions show that the semiconductor industry is consolidating in a fast movement. Today there is not room for everybody in the semiconductor industry. 1 Recommendation 06/01/2015 11:08:01 AM

MY COMMENT: The death of a son or daughter is always devastating for his/her parents. Personally, in that moment, I don’t think if they are my friends or enemies or who they are… First at all, they are human beings suffering a deep pain…

With this attitude, in a humble way, I would like to express my condolence to Vice President Joe Biden. I hope God will comfort him in this sad moment. 9 Recommendations 05/31/2015 11:15:00 AM

MY COMMENT: We can agree or disagree with the ideas of the former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley but his profile is better than others.

Mr. O’Malley has executive experience as Maryland governor, Baltimore mayor and a Baltimore city councilor. 1 Recommendation 05/31/2015 09:53:15 AM

MY COMMENT: The abandonment of Iraq was planned without think in the terrible consequences of this decision. It prepared the ground for ISIS. 2 Recommendations 05/30/2015 06:00:14 PM

MY COMMENT: This story paints dramatic pictures of people who leave their countries and take very hard risks because in their countries are living in poverty, oppression and without any hope of future. 1 Recommendation 05/30/2015 05:39:41 PM

MY COMMENT: The fact that the United States removes Cuba officially from the State Sponsor of Terrorism List does not clean the bloody hands of the Castro brothers and Che Guevara for the crimes they committed for decades and for the support of terrorism movements across Latin America and Africa.  7 Recommendations 05/29/2015 02:46:41 PM

MY COMMENT: In the middle of the investigation of bribery, the voting of Joseph “Sepp” Blatter for a fifth consecutive term confirms that FIFA is the Kingdom of Corruption. All is rotten!!!  4 Recommendations 05/29/2015 02:27:11 PM

MY COMMENT: If the Americans want to live the same mistakes of the past for eight more years, Hillary Clinton is the best option.

But if the Americans want to enter into the future, Hillary Clinton is the worst option.
Despite all her “cosmetic”, money and distinguished friends, Hillary is frustration and  ego. 7 Recommendations 05/29/2015 01:41:09 AM

MY COMMENT: A new merger in the semiconductor industry! Avago is acquiring Broadcom to become a strong semiconductor leader in wire and wireless communications with a diversified package of products. 05/28/2015 02:58:25 PM

MY COMMENT: We cannot expect if Edward Snowden remains in Moscow, he will be permanently in vacation visiting museums and historic places to learn about the Russian culture.

It is not strange that Mr. Putin is using his professional services directly or indirectly. 1 Recommendation 05/28/2015 02:32:33 PM

MY COMMENT: It is not easy to predict the future of the relationships of Iran with the rest of the world.

Till now, despite the flexibility of the western powers in the negotiations of the nuclear deal, the Iranians did not show evidences that they will dismantle their organizations that generate military conflicts and terrorist actions in the Middle-East. 1 Recommendation 05/28/2015 02:14:47 PM

MY COMMENT: In the start of his second-term, Prime Minister David Cameron launched a series of initiatives that probably will create conflicts with other sectors despite his Parliamentary majority.

However, it is interesting to remark the new legislation to put higher barrier to strike looks like a necessary initiative. During the last times, across the European countries, the unions are using the strikes in an abusive way.

Essential public services, such as health and transport, cannot be blocked every time that somebody in a union wants to fight for a new benefit. 2 Recommendations 05/28/2015 01:47:00 PM

MY COMMENT: It is obvious that the Islamic State is pointing to take Baghdad. How to prevent its fall?

Only a strong offensive of the Iraqi troops retaking Ramadi can save the fall of Baghdad. But this operation looks like impossible mission with the low moral of the current military forces of the central government. 1 Recommendation 05/27/2015 03:33:48 PM

MY COMMENT: The corruption is not new in FIFA. Probably, all the international governing body from the No.1 are involved.

The cases of the selection of Russia and Qatar for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups are recent samples of the corrupt practices of International Federation of Association Football. 2 Recommendations 05/27/2015 05:36:11 AM

MY COMMENT: The news says: “Cameron and Juncker Kick-Start U.K.’s Negotiations on EU Membership”. This is only a first step of complicate negotiations. 05/26/2015 03:37:59 PM

MY COMMENT: After the Spanish regional elections, the news says: “Spain’s growth numbers have impressed markets, but not voters.”

The “voters” are the people of the street, the workers who lost their jobs, and the youngsters who don’t find job....

The “voters” don’t follow the financial curves and numbers that are prepared for the markets. The ‘voters” feel their own economic problems and the corruption of the government institutions. 1 Recommendation 05/26/2015 03:23:21 PM

MY COMMENT: It is evident that the Chinese naval forces continue expanding their operations because China wants to be the boss and sheriff of the Asian seas. 05/26/2015 03:11:08 PM

MY COMMENT: The newspapers say: “Greece will make its next IMF payment.” This is the best news from Greece in the last months. We have to hope that they really make the payment. 1 Recommendation 05/26/2015 02:37:21 PM
