WORLDRETHINK: Twitter tour on March 14, 2020 - Are we ready for remote schools?

#WR: Are we ready for remote school? The closure of schools will help to reduce direct contact of students and the risks of the gatherings. However, the remote school requests a lot of technology, heavy Internet, smart educators to conduct #virtual classes. #COVID19 #schoolclosures

After the declaration of the NATIONAL EMERGENCY, all the country is preparing for the closure of schools and the deployment of educational programs of remote learning.  The initiative will reduce the personal contact of students, educators and parents.  This is a good step to reduce the spreading of the coronavirus sickness.

However, the remote school requests a series of elements that cannot put together from a minute to another.

First, it is necessary, that the teachers can transform their conventional educational plans in virtual classes and generate a system of virtual evaluation of the students. The teachers need the knowledge to program computers and digital devices. (Have all the teachers this skill?)

Second, the remote learning demands powerful Internet lines with the capacity to work properly despite a heavy telecommunication traffic.

And third, everybody need to have powerful computers with the capacity to be online during all the virtual classes and flexible techniques to facilitate the interaction students/educator.

Are we ready to start the remote school right now?
