RETHINKING - August 24, 2021 - From Afghanistan to Taiwan

The two last American presidents - Mr. Trump and Mr Biden - said that they wanted to accelerate the withdrawal from Afghanistan to focus on the threats of China including the possible assault of Taiwan.

After all the mistakes committed in the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the inability to plan a reasonably decent rescue of US citizens and Afghan friends from the Kabul Airport, we cannot rethink more crucial missions.

It is shameful that the President of the United States is dealing with terrorists like the Taliban to change the deadline of August 31.

The Taliban militants are not military strategists with academic experience in planning operations with sophisticated computer systems. They are only gangs of criminals with a very low background level and non-professional.

With this image we cannot think of negotiating with China's President Xi the rescue of the Taiwanese friends the day that the Chinese take the Island that they say belongs to them.
