An interesting WSJ opinion column written by Harry Jackson and posted on August 19, asks the following question: “Should Military Officers Be Chosen by Race?”
Mr. Jackson, a retired US naval intelligence officer, criticizes that at this moment one of the US Navy admirals promotes officers by race.
According to Mr. Jackson “Adm. Nowell and others are promoting racial quotas that would upend decades of progress and weaken the force. This divisiveness distracts from the mission, hurts recruiting and sows bitterness. If a war comes, it may be your son or daughter who pays the price.”
My answer posted as a blog-comment on WSJ Online was: “If we want that America returns to its glory times, in the military, university and the companies the successful formula will be to select leaders based on intelligence, aptitude, skill and excellence.”
