Dear Friends:
On Thursday,
Congress was shook for an unexpected reaction from two Republican Senators
about the tax bill.
Senator Marco Rubio (R.
FL) said he would vote against the tax bill if the final measure doesn’t expand
child tax credits for low-income households beyond what is currently
envisioned. Sen. Mike Lee (R., Utah) followed Sen. Rubio asking also for a more
generous child tax credit.
Before, Senator
Susan Collins (R., Maine) remarked that she will not vote for the bill if she
observes that Medicare is damaged with the new tax code. Sen. Jeff Flake (R.,
Ariz.) is acting with similar criterion.
Till now, Sen. Bob
Corker (R., Tenn.) didn’t compromise his vote for the final version of the tax
bill. He didn’t vote for the previous version earlier this month. During the
last few months, Senator Corker showed disappointment for a series of the
issues relating to the White House.
Meanwhile, Senators
John McCain (R., Ariz.) and Thad Cochran (R., Miss.) have health license this
week. Nobody knows the last opinion of Sen. McCain about this issue. During the
last months, the Arizona senator showed upset for some issues linked with the current
administration.
All the Democrat
members of Congress anticipated that the will vote against the tax bill.
With this “frame”,
maybe the bill will not arrive to the White House before Christmas.
Today, Friday
December 15 at noon time,
the Congress commission that is working in the writing of the new bill agreed
with the request of Senator Rubio. Immediately, Mr. Rubio informed that according
the new arrangements, he will vote for the bill.
We don’t know till
now the decisions of the other senators who didn’t confirm the vote of the tax
bill. Meanwhile, we are learning that in the Congress, there are members
who assume their duties according to the mandate of the
American Constitution.
All this gymnastics
around the tax bill is showing that at least a group of members of Congress
care for the families with children, the health of elders and the people of low
resources.
In gloomy moments of
the politics, it is good to see there are lawmakers who are not puppets of the
leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives or White House. This is like the democracy has to work.

Maybe, “net
neutrality” was a “socialist model” in the style of the Obama administration,
but the non-net-neutrality voted now can become a wild-capitalist-model. In US,
we need something in the middle of the two “wild” models.

The Republican
senators who really think in the possible negative impact of the tax bill in
the life of normal people will not accept a “bill” cooked as a fast-food to
give the President as Christmas gift.

In a democracy,
every senator is a different mind and voice in the Congress.
It is great that in the GOP, no everybody
accepts to be a “puppet” of other interests.

The
"readiness" of the U.S. Navy never has to decline.
Maybe, if we don't
have enough ships, we have to reduce the number of operations, but never to
take actions that generate the series of the recent accidents.
(The problem is the
political power doesn't understand about the professional requirements.)

providers won this battle. But this is a “war” in a series of cycles.

Discussion about
“yes” or “no” to net-neutrality in Internet is battle between 2 groups of power:
Internet-service providers and Internet-content companies. In the middle, the
