Dear Friends:
On Monday, December
11 – yesterday – at 7:20 am, an immigrant from Bangladesh tried to detonate a pipe bomb attached to
his body inside a crowded Manhattan subway.
New
York City
police informed the “attempted terrorist attack” didn't work like Akayed Ullah
expected. Only the attacker and three other persons were wounded.
This is the second
terrorist attack in New York City during the last few months. The previous was perpetrated with a truck
drove other ISIS follower who crashed the vehicle against a
group of people and killed some of them.
After September
11, 2001, during a
long period, New
York
was not target of the terrorists. The majority of the recent attacks were in Europe, in particular, in Paris, London and Brussels.
The new attack in New York shows terrorists and criminal organizations
are trying to generate panic and deaths in the big American city again. Serious
Alert!
We cannot guess when
another terrorist attack will be perpetrated and where. In the war of terror,
the battlefield can be anywhere, including in small cities and remote places.
For this reason, it
is possible that tomorrow, or next month or next year again somebody detonates
a bomb in New
York,
or in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles or Washington DC.
‘ETERNAL VIGILANCE’
There is a quote
attributed to Thomas Jefferson that says: “eternal vigilance is the price of
liberty.”
Thomas Jefferson,
one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and the principal author of the Declaration
of Independence, had a wise view about democracy and freedom. A lot of his
quotes and thoughts are more valid today than never before.
If we want to live
in liberty, we have to be alert every time, everywhere. We don't know when the
devil will try to damage the status of freedom and in what way.
"Eternal
vigilance" is the key attitude to abort attacks or at least to reduce the
impact to any terrorist or criminal action.
The “eternal
vigilance” implies a very responsible attitude from authorities, security
forces and from each American citizen.
It is time that we
stop our discussions for petty things, and we return to the lessons of Thomas
Jefferson and the other Founding Fathers; looking always for all we can do in
the defense of our country against the war on terror.

According to the
news, the “meteoric rise” of bitcoin is pushing by individual Asian investors.
When this “bubble” loses “gas”, these individuals will drown in a social drama.
It is not the first time this phenomenon happens.

This story says the
neighbors of the suspected terrorist Akayed Ullah described him as “edgy” and
“unfriendly”. New York is a cosmopolitan city; however the brain of this Bangladeshi was in
other world.

Due to this action, some polls put Jones over Moore. Voters have the last word.

Disruptive
technologies changed the roles of the human workers in the economic equation.
Workers who cannot interact with the new technology are outside from the

Today, we will find
possible terror-makers everywhere across the world. For this reason,
authorities have to improve the intelligence systems to detect suspects in any
corner of the big and small cities and also in rural areas.
