RETHINKING: Your Brains Connected to Computers

Dear Friends:

In the last few days, a new project to connect the human brains with computers was announced in the Silicon Valley.

Elon Musk, co-founder of Tesla and SolarCity and founder of SpaceX, introduced to the press a startup named Neuralink.

The new project of Mr. Musk pursues the development of a “neural lace” technology. The mission of this startup is to link of the human brains with computers for medical purposes and other human goals.

Other projects with similar intentions are conducted by Facebook and DARPA.

The first step of Neuralink will be the implantation of tiny electrodes in human brains to heal sick people. However, according to some stories published for the media, the ambitions of this entrepreneur are bigger. (To remember, Mr. Musk is thinking the idea of sending humans to Mars.)

The announcement of Neuralink came days after that CeBIT 2017 was held at Hannover, Germany. (CeBIT is an annual world technology show and conference organized by the Germans.)

This year, CeBIT was excitant in speeches and announcements. One of the speakers talked about the hacking of the heart implants that some sick people have in their body. The title of this conference was “Could hackers break my heart via my pacemaker?”

Dr. Marie Moe, Research Scientist and Associate Professor, SINTEF (Scandinavia), explained her own personal experience with being the host of a vulnerable medical implant. She said that she started a hacking project to investigate the security of her own personal critical infrastructure.

The life of this scientist “depends on the functioning of a medical device, a pacemaker that generates each and every beat of her heart.”

Technology like politics always has very exciting news.

If we analyze together the announcement of Neuralink and the speech of Dr. Marie Moe, we can achieve to serious question mark: the “neural lace” of Neuralink can give better life to the patients of Alzheimer, but what will happen if somebody hacks the computers linked to your brains?

The history of Westinghouse Electric is an excellent example of the human energy and intelligence that moved to the United States of America to the hill of the top nations of the world in other times.

The mission of Neuralink looks great from the medical and human purposes, but what will happen if somebody hacks the computers linked to your brains?

What kind of leader is Le Pen? It is ridiculous that she went to Moscow asking for advising to President Putin.

The crucial question is: Will Alexei Navalny surpasses all the hurdles to be the new Russian leader?

Can Alexei Navalny survive the test of polonium and the bullets of snipers?

In Russia, the big changes are bloody and after .a series of martyrdoms.

Germans and Japanese don't sleep when they have to create something great and they made great job in robots. This is the reason that today the American factory floors are invaded by robots from these countries.

But the real problem is that China is entering in the robots business using German knock-how when here we continue sleeping in the imagination that we are the most advanced nation in all. (In 2016, they bought KUKA Robotics from Germany.)

The same is happening in the sector of drones. A lot of the drones that today are in the American market are from China.

Nothing new! These practices were very common in the countries that were part of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.

Ronald Reagan died with the perception that he demolished the Iron Curtain and ended the Cold War, but through real facts we see that the Soviet power remains under different forms.
