The Wall Street Journal posted a column titled "Hong Kong Is Erasing the Tiananmen Square Massacre" by Jillian Kay Melchior.
The author wrote "A university demands the removal of a sculpture - 'The Pillar of Shame' - honoring the victims of June 4, 1989."
"A gruesome sculpture rises from a courtyard at the University of Hong Kong. It depicts dozens of human bodies contorted in agony, some with mouths open in silent screams, some skeletal and apparently motionless.
"The public university has demanded that this work of art be removed by 5 p.m. Wednesday (5 a.m. Eastern in the U.S.)—an ultimatum Hong Kongers find more horrifying than the statue’s grisly presence."
This was my comment in the Blog sector of the WSJ opinion column:
"“The Pillar of Shame” is a good sample of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. This is how the Chinese Communists act against the people who claim freedom. The authorities don't want to show the truth about the regime in the university environment."
