IBM needs a CEO who makes a new "earthquake" because
all its traditional businesses don't generate revenues and the current
landscape of the technology is very different from the 90s and the
beginning of 2000s.
Yes, it is true, Lou Gerstner was an outsider. But
Krishna is not the classic IBM executive. He has Indian background like
the current CEOs of Alphabet and Microsoft . Of course, the revolution
of Krishna would be different from the Gerstner's earthquake.
Probably, Arvind Krishna becomes in the "Lou
Gerstner" of the New Millennium.
We have to remember, that in the start of the 90s, when IBM was going
down, Lou Gerstner came from other industry sector to reverse the bad
luck of the tech company.
