In the last few days, we are listening to a lot of news about the bombing of southeastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
The last headline of The Wall Street Journal says: "Ukrainians Flee as Russian Forces Push to Take Mariupol. Russian attacks gut entire neighborhoods; ‘they are basically wiping the city from the face of the earth’"
This news reminds me of the Syrian War some years ago, when also the Russian troops destroyed another old famous city, Aleppo.
Aleppo was one of the oldest cities of the world, with a rich history and famous for its role in commercial and military activities of the Middle East.
Mariupol is also an old city with an important role in the industrialization of Ukraine.
The Russians completely destroyed Aleppo. Now, they are making the same devil work in Mariupol.
The pacifists of the world after 1945 were thinking that nobody would demolish historic old cities in Europe. Both criminal actions came after World War II.
According to some testimonies of Ukrainians who fled from Mariupol in the last few days, nobody of the residents of this city though a month ago that the Russians would attack civilians and destroy theaters and schools like they did in only three weeks.
The question now is: Will Mariupol return to the normality and the great moments of other times?
