The pending question: Why Huawei is in the middle of the US-China tech war? The Wall Street Journal posted yesterday an interesting column that explains Ren Zhengfei -former Chinese army engineer- founded Huawei with the intention to build communications infrastructure for the People’s Liberation Army of China.
According to the editorial column of The Wall Street Journal, " The Commerce Department in May
tightened its regulatory vise on Huawei, the Chinese telecom giant, and it’s
important to recognize the magnitude of what is happening. The U.S. isn’t
merely sanctioning a misbehaving firm. It’s forcibly decoupling computer
technology supply chains from China, a move that will accelerate the fracture
of at least part of the world economy into two spheres of influence."
The previous statements are part of the "Opinion" column of the WSJ Editorial Board titled "Huawei and the U.S.-China Tech War" and posted online by The Wall Street Journal on June 9, 2020.
The analysis of the opinion of American business newspaper gives us a new element in the evaluation of Huawei and to know about its role in Chinese environment.
We knew for previous technical reports that Huawei started to design and manufacture its own chips and microprocessors in semiconductors factories of Taiwan to avoid its previous dependence from Intel and other American manufacturers.
The tech war between the United States and China is in the beginning till now. We will see more of these confrontations among American and Chinese companies and governments very soon.
Other subject linked with the U.S - China war is the new pressure of Beijing over Taiwan that is home of TSMC, the major semiconductor foundry of the world. (Attention: Taiwan is the new target of Beijing!!!)
