RETHINKING - JUNE 29, 2022 - DEATH IN THE BORDER

 It is not new that illegal immigrants die in the southern border with Mexico, however always that something very tragic happens, all the media talk in high voice.

Now, the Wall Street Journal published “The death toll from Monday’s discovery of dozens of migrants being smuggled in a tractor-trailer rose to 53 Wednesday, according to local authorities, marking a grim addition to what appears to be a rising death toll among people attempting to illegally enter the U.S. from Mexico.”

“Three people have been arrested in relation to the incident, according to authorities, and two men have been charged with possession of a weapon by a person illegally in the country.”

My opinion posted in the blogger section of the WSJ Online is “The death of these people is sad from the human perspective.
 
But, it is time the United States closes the border completely for the illegals and punishes very hard to the human smugglers.  From my point of view, these criminals deserve the death penalty.

The Mexican authorities are one of the parts responsible for human traffic businesses.

If Mexico doesn't help, we have to fight against human traffics as the first priority.”

RETHINKING - JUNE 25, 2022 - ABORTO OR ECONOMY

 

In the last few days, a lot of activists came to Washington DC to protest against the decision of the Supreme Court about abortion.

In connection with this issue the media is saying that probably the abortion will be the main issue of the mid-term election in November.

Today, in relation of the subject, the Wall Street Journal published an editorial column titled: "Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade Ruling Sets Off Protests as States Plan Moves"

"While the people fight about the abortion issue, they forget the gasoline prices are climbing."

"This fighting around the abortion is a new "curtain" to hide the most serious issues that are hitting America in the current time: economy, social violence, and the threats of a new world war due to the power ambition of Russia and China."

RETHINKING - JUNE 24, 2022 - LOSING THE BATTLE...

 

In the last few weeks, The Wall Street Journal, Deutsche Welle and others are posting stories that show bad news from the Ukrainian troops in the east of the country.

The last story posted by WSJ says "Ukrainian Troops Retreat From Severodonetsk After Weeks of Brutal Battle" by By Yaroslav Trofimov.

"In the East Ukraine, Ukrainians don't achieve victories despite the support the United States and Europe are giving to the Zelensky's government."

"Ukraine is losing the east of the country in the battlefield and the cost is high."

RETHINKING - JUNE 21, 2022 - THE GHOST OF FIDEL

 

Yesterday morning – June 20, 2022 – when I learned about the victory  the former Colombia’s guerrilla leader (Mr. Petro), immediately I said “The Ghost of Fidel is near to ending his job across all Latin America."

In recent months, this Ghost changed the maps of Chile and Peru. Now both countries are led by communist politicians.

Everybody knows that Lula is trying to retake Brazil again.

But the worst action of the Ghost of Fidel is in Colombia, a country that was allied with the United States during the hard war against the guerrilla and the drug landlords.

It is evident that the Ghost of Fidel continues spreading Castro's ideology across all Latin America and the citizens of those countries dream that God is opening the doors of Paradise. Yes, the Red Paradise of the slavery to leaders who frequently use the bad practices of Fidel and the Che. I really feel sorry for these naïve people.

RETHINKING - JUNE 18, 2022 - COLOMBIA'S FUTURE

 On Sunday, Colombians have election day. They are voting between a former “guerrilla leader” (leftist leader) and a real-estate mogul.

All the American press is following this election because it can change the future of the South American country in a dramatic way.

The Wall Street Journal posted a story titled “Colombia’s  Is Latest Blow to Latin America’s Political Center” by Juan Forero and David Luhnow.

This is the introduction of the WSJ’s story “In Sunday’s presidential election, voters will choose between two anti- establishment politicians. Gustavo Petro, a 62-year-old senator, is a leftist former guerrilla who says he wants to end oil exploration and print money to spur economic growth. Rodolfo Hernández, his rival, is a 77-year-old provincial real-estate mogul who didn’t hold rallies or speak from public squares...”

“Colombians have in their hands the future of their country. If they vote for the left, please don't cry after that. And don't come to the United States to ask for help.”

RETHINKING - JUNE 17, 2022 - MIKE PENCE...

 

In recent days, the January 6 House Committee about the events in January, 2020 made public its research about what happened that day in the Capitol of Washington DC.

Today, The Wall Street Journal posted a story related to the role of the former Vice President in the Capitol in 2020 titled “Mike Pence Considers 2024 Bid as Jan. 6 Hearings Remind Voters of His Break From Trump” by By Alex Leary  and John McCormick.

RETHINKING - JUNE 16, 2022 - BRITISH DISASTER

 

Today, The Wall Street Journal published an opinion column by Joseph C. Sternberg about the bad moment the United Kingdom is living in now.
 
The column titled “The Very Preventable Economic Disaster Overtaking Britain” starts with the following statement “Policies are almost never truly stupid, but that’s the best term to describe the Tories’ recent decisions.”

After that, the author wrote "The U.K. economy is the world’s fifth-largest and Europe’s second-largest after Germany. London is a major financial center, and Britain is an energy producer and a vigorous global trader. What happens here matters to the rest of the world. So it matters that the British economy today is, to put it delicately, a hot mess."

This subject is very similar to some stories posted for the European press about the disaster the Britons are living at the moment.
