RETHINKING - AUGUST 25, 2022 - PAYING THE DEBTS FROM OTHERS

The decision of President Biden to forgive the debts of the students is the new subject of domestic politics.

This was my opinion comment posted yesterday in the WSJ Online community:

"Like always, taxpayers will pay to the lucky guys who went to college without making an effort to pay for their studies."

RETHINKING - AUGUST 17, 2022 - LIZ CHENEY'S FUTURE

On August 17, 2022 the main political news of America was the defeat of the US Representative Republican Liz Cheney in the primary of Wyoming yesterday.

The Wall Street Journal posted a series of stories about Ms. Cheney and her confrontation with Donald Trump and also published an editorial column titled “Cheney, Trump and the GOP”.

The WSJ column starts “The Congresswoman lost in Wyoming, and the party divisions will haunt in 2024.”

And after that says: “Liz Cheney lost her Republican primary in Wyoming Tuesday because she bravely stood up to the stolen-election falsehoods of Donald Trump.”

“Mr. Trump targeted Ms. Cheney for defeat as he did the other nine Republicans who voted to impeach him after his disgraceful behavior on Jan. 6, 2021. He now has his revenge, as eight of them have lost or retired from Congress, but Republicans shouldn’t be so pleased. / Ms. Cheney is a conservative by any measure and she has the courage of her convictions.”

My opinion comments in the blog section of the WSJ Online were:

1) "Tuesday Wyoming’s voting for the Republican candidate for the representative to the US Congress is past. Now, we have to observe the next steps of Liz Cheney. Certainly, She will continue her fight against Donald Trump from another platform."

2) "This is not the end of Liz Cheney. It is the beginning of a new cycle of her political career.

 

3) "After the confrontation with the former President Trump, Ms. Cheney became a strong political figure of America. Some people consider her a traitor and others think that she is a hero."

Both comments received a series of positive approvals from other members of the WSJ Community,

RETHINKING - AUGUST 12, 2022 - IRANIAN REVENGE

 

Yesterday, there was a new panic in the political environment of the United States.

According to the investigations of the intelligence agencies at least, two prominent American politicians were targets of the Iranian criminal organizations in recent years. 

The Wall Street Journal posted a story titled " John Bolton Was Target of Assassination Plot by Iranian National"

"An Iranian national plotted to assassinate at least two former Trump administration officials, including John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in answer for the killing of Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s powerful military commander.

This time, I posted my opinion on Twitter: "This is terrible news, but something normal from the Iranian leaders. It is a classic Iranian revenge. "

RETHINKING - AUGUST 7TH, 2022 - CHINESE GAMES CONTINUE...

After Mrs. Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, the Chinese started "war games" that grew in high level. 

About the new situation,  today The Wall Street Journal posted a new story.

This is the introduction of the new story: "China’s War Games Showcase New Tools to Intimidate Taiwan. Four days of maneuvers off the self-ruled island’s coast displayed the Chinese military’s growing capabilities."

In relation to this story I posted in Twitter a blog comment that received a lot of good observations from other members of this community.

The comment was short, but very focused on the new problem.

Please, read my comment and rethink the situation for yourself.

" War games always are very dangerous, and more when they  trespass the border of your lands. Taiwan is in serious trouble."

RETHINKING - AUGUST 6, 2022 - TAIWAN AFTER THE VISIT

 

Today, The Wall Street Journal talked about life in Taiwan after Mrs. Pelosi visited the island.

This was the introduction of the story:

"In Taiwan, Life Goes On Under Barrel of China’s Gun

Impact of military drills has been muted after years of threats from Beijing"

I posted my opinion in the blog section of the WSJ Online.

My blog comment "Pending question: "Is Taiwan prepared for the war?" It is time the Taiwanese start to prepare for the worst."

RETHINKING - AUGUST 5, 2022 - AMERICAN LABOR MARKET

 

Today, The Wall Street Journal celebrated good news from the American labor market.

The WSJ story was titled "July Jobs Report: U.S. Added 528,000 New Jobs as Unemployment Rate Fell to 3.5%"

My answer to this story posted in the blog section of WSJ Online was not an applaud to the news.

Please, read yourself my opinions:

1) "More jobs, but the wages are low, and the inflation is hitting the middle-class people."

2) "Of course, the wages have been declining for decades. For this reason the current middle-class people are really poor compared to other times."

RETHINKING - AUGUST 3RD, 2022 - TAIWAN TRIP

 

Yesterday, Tuesday August 2nd., 2022, a delegation of the U.S. Representatives visited Taiwan, an island that China claims as part of its territory.

The Wall Street Journal posted a story about this controversial trip titled "As Pelosi Leaves Taiwan, China’s Military Looms Larger" written by Brian Spegele and Chun Han Wong.

The authors of the story and a lot of bloggers made objections about the trip because they fear the negative reactions.from China.

I think different from the comments that were published.

This was my blog comment:

"Personally, I don't like Mrs. Pelosi. However, I think it was good that a high rank American politician showed President Xi that China will not intimidate America."
